Finance software startup Quartr signs an API deal with Lightyear, an online broker based in Londonserving customers in 20 countries across europe. Lightyear will, through this integration, get access to Quartr’s database of earnings calls, accompanying documents, reports, and slide decks. Platoon is bringing in Leslie Berland, Twitter’s former marketing head, as its next chief marketing officer, effective Wednesday.

Berland left Twitter in November amid a slew of executive departures after Elon Musk’s takeover, which has led to significant restructuring and revenue drops at the social media giant. She previously helped lead marketing at American Express for 10 years.

Starbucks workers in Valparaiso file for union election

Workers at a Starbucks in Valparaiso filed for a union election that could make the coffee shop on LaPorte Avenue just the second unionized Starbucks in Indiana, saying they have trouble paying their bills at a time when the company is reaping record profits.

Hourly workers at the Starbucks at 2310 LaPorte Ave., near Target at the Valparaiso Marketplace outdoor shopping mall, asked the National Labor Relations Board for union representation. An overwhelming majority of workers at the store signed union authorization cards, according to the Chicago and Midwest Regional Joint Board of Workers United.
